Outgoing Winona State University Administrator Jim Schmidt says one of the first things he plans to do when he starts his new job on Monday is meeting U-W Eau Claire faculty, students and staff.
Schmidt will officially become the new Chancellor at U-W Eau Claire Monday after completing 15 years at Winona State University
He told Winona Radio the two schools have some of the same missions but there are also some differences as well. Schmidt said it was tough decision for him to leave Winona State, from which he graduated in 1986, but he called U-W Eau Claire the right fit for him. Schmidt has served most recently as the Winona State vice president for advancement and as the executive director of the WSU Foundation.
