Republican leaders in the Minnesota legislature are continuing to lobby Governor Mark Dayton to call a special session to repeal a new tax they say will hurt Minnesota businesses.

Senate Minority Leader David Hann and House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt have sent a letter to Dayton saying the new sales tax on warehousing and storage services has garnered an outpouring of opposition from taxpayers across the state.

The letter says just last month Red Wing Shoes announced it was delaying investment in a $20,000,000-plus distribution center in Red Wing because the the tax.
Even though the new law does not take affect until April of 2014, the two leaders say the legislature should not wait until next year to take action but needs to act immediately to provide assurance to large and small businesses who are considering expansion of worse, expanding to other states.

They say the delay will cost Minnesota jobs......
