The Winona City Planning Commission Monday voted 8 to 1 to deny a site plan for a proposed new 17 unit lodging and boarding establishment at 520 Center Street.
The city has received some concerns from the public regarding the proposal, including parking spaces for the facility, concerns about noise and possible devaluation of property.
Kevin Brady, Chief Financial Officer for Bluff City Properties LLC, says the site plan follows current zoning as far as parking is concerned and should be approved.
Commissioner Luverne Olson said he has concerns about enough parking, especially if the land leased for parking spots on Severson Oil property gets sold.
Bluff City Properties can now resubmit a new plan for the project that would have to include more information about potential parking spaces. The city is recommeding the establishment needs 49 off-street parking spaces are required within 300 feet of the property.
