All of the property owners slated for acquisition by the Minnesota Department of Transportation to make way for the Highway 43 bridge project in Winona should now have received notice.
Winona County Recorder Bob Bambenek told the Winona County Board his office has been working on identifying the properties and eight different title agents have been working on the acquisition. Bambenek also said the city should not expect any payback from Mn-DOT for the loss of property tax revenue if any of those property owners do not relocate.
Bambenek said some of the businesses in the area of the project have identified areas of the city where they might move but no final decisions have been made. The Highway 43 bridge project is slated to get underway next year.
