Bambenek said there were 26 mortgage foreclosures during the first six months of 2013, nearly half when compared to the first six months of 2012. He said that's the lowest number of foreclosures in seven years.
Bambenek also reported recordings at his office were up nine percent in the first half of 2013 and property sales increased by 15% when compared to 2012. 65% of the residential sales were over the county market values.
Bambenek said the largest residential sale was a home near Dresbach that went for $503,000. A home in Pleasant Valley in the City of Winona went for $403,000. There were 22 land sales in Winona County in the first six months with the average price per acre at $6,100.
