Winona County authorities said a 31 year old rural Altura man went to Winona Health early Wednesday to be treated for cuts and bruises following an incident in the City of Altura.
Investigator Rob Averbeck said the man told authorities he was walking on Altura's Main Street about 2:00 a.m. when two other men jumped him. Averbeck said the victim sustained wounds on both arms and an inch and a-half puncture wound on his chest.
The victim described the two suspects as Hispanic males whom he was unable to identify. He said he was cut with either a broken glass bottle or a knife.
Authorities were called to the Winona Health emergency room about 5:30 a.m. where the victim had sought treatment. The victim's name was not released pending completion of the investigation.
Averbeck said the incident happened after the victim had a run-in with the men in an Altura bar. Authorities continue to search for the two suspects.
