Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are scheduled to meet with the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Tuesday.

The meeting follows a meeting last week with Winona city officials and stakeholders where an update on the highway 43 bridge project was given.

The plan now calls for a reduced cost, not to exceed $142,000,000, for the project, in addition to cost of land acquisition.

MinnDOT also said 32 parcels of private property will be impacted by the project.

MinnDOT said the Chamber meeting is part of a schedule that includes a meeting with the Winona Heritage Preservation Commission on August 14th and a hoped for public hearing on the plan by the City Council on August 19th.

The project cannot move forward without the consent of the City Council.

The Chamber meeting will be closed to the public.....
