Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation met with the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Tuesday.
The meeting follows a meeting last week with Winona city officials and stakeholders where an update on the Highway 43 bridge project was given.
Chamber President Della Schmidt says she and other Chamber leaders, including the Board of Directors and members of the Transportation Committee, got an opportunity to meet and talk with new project manager Terry Ward and he outlined the project's time line and answered questions.
Schmidt says no new information was given but it was good for the Chamber to see the presentation for themselves. She says she stressed the fact that Winona was a designated Main Street Community and hopes to have some feedback in the process going forward.
MnDOT plans on meeting with with the Winona Heritage Preservation Commission next month and is hoping for a public hearing on the plan by the City Council on August 19th. The council has to approve any plan before it can proceed.
