The Winona County Sheriff's Department is seeking formal criminal charges against a 42-year-old Winona man in connection with a motorcycle incident in Stockton earlier this month.
Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said the department is recommending Brian James Weylage be charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and driving after revocation of his license.
A 27-year-old Winona woman was injured on July 7th after she fell off a motorcycle that was driven by Weylage across the railroad tracks in Stockton.
A witness told authorities Weylage returned to the scene briefly and then left leaving the woman there.
Ganrude said the woman spent two days in the hospital with a head injury.
The case has been turned over to the Winona County Attorney's Office.....
Weylage is also one of the five people who were arrested early Tuesday in a drug bust in Winona. Authorities obtained a search warrant in the unrelated bust and turned up meth and a substance better known as plant food at 1614 West Ninth Street.
Weylage was charged in that incident with third and fourth degree controlled substance violations alleging the sale of narcotics, and also possession of a firearm because a 12-gauge shotgun was also seized.
All five were jailed.
