The lawsuit, filed on behalf of two former Boy Scouts who were members of Rochester Troop 210, named the Boy Scouts of America, Gamehaven Council, Inc., St. Pius X Catholic Church, troop sponsor, and former troop leader and convicted child molester Richard Hokanson, as defendants.
The lawsuit states that alleged victims were sexually abused by Hokanson in the 1970s. It also alleges the Boy Scouts, who received information in the early 1970s pertaining to Hokanson's sexual abuse, failed to act to protect the children, thus enabling Hokanson to prey on youth and others.
Anderson, during a news conference in Rochester, said Richard Hokanson is alive and living in Faribault. He is believed to have spent 22 years as a Boy Scout leader and held other positions in the Rochester area involving youth activities.
