It was confirmed that a tornado damaged trees in the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge around 5:20 pm.
The tornado was rated an EF Zero with winds of 65 to 85 mph. The tornado had a path width of 40 yards and a path length over land of a 1/4 to 1/2 mile. This does not include the time that the tornado was over the Mississippi River.
The National Weather Service estimates the winds were actually between 70 and 75 miles per hour. The tornado covered 1.1 statute miles. It was on the ground for five minutes and occurred six miles northwest of the Village of Trempealeau.
