43 Bridge Project--Volunteers

Here's your chance to help out with the Highway 43 interstate bridge project in Winona.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking community volunteers to participate in a Visual Quality Committee. The committee will make recommendations to MinnDOT and Winona city leaders regarding various final design elements of the project.

Project Manager Terry Ward says MinnDOT is looking for 10 to 12 volunteers who will meet up to six times in the coming months in Winona.  The deadline to express your interest is Friday, August 2nd, at 4:00 p.m. Contact Terry Ward at 507-286-7688, or email terry.ward@state.mn.us

Ward says the committee will review such things as bridge railing, traffic barrier and bridge pier designs, as well as potential amenities, such as bike paths and landscaping.  Discussions between MinnDOT and city leaders regarding the development of possible amendities as part of the project have already begun.
