Highway 43 Bridge Meeting

The general public will get its chance to weigh in on the Highway 43 bridge project in Winona when the Minnesota Department of Transportation holds an open house in Winona on Monday, August 12th.

The session will be held at the National Guard Armory on Homer Road from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Minn-DOT representatives, including project manager Terry Ward, will be on hand to explain such things as the project scope, cost, schedule, construction staging, and the bridge type recommendations.

Ward says the public will learn more about why the start date has been moved up to between July of 2014 and the spring of 2015.

The officials will answer questions and provide information on the historical review process.  All of the members of the historical review team will be there to field questions regarding the Cultural Resources phase of the project, including the involvement of the Federal Highway Administration and the State Historical Preservation Office.

A formal presentation will be held at 5:00 p.m.....
