Over 200 4-H members from around the state of Wisconsin participated in the 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus program which was held several separate weeks in June and July in Washington, D.C.
Representing Buffalo County were: Allison Reinhardt of Cheerful Workers 4-H and Richard Unnasch and John Bragger of Montana Pioneers 4-H Club.
The Wisconsin delegation joined over 1000 other 4-H youth from throughout the United States at the National 4-H Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
Participants visited historical sites in Washington, D.C., such as the Smithsonian Institute, the Holocaust Museum, and the Capital Building that help youth increase their understanding and appreciation of their American heritage and their role as American citizens.
While visiting, the Wisconsin delegation also met with state Senators to discuss political issues that mattered to them and their local communities.
