Tyler Larkin

I grew up in Eagan, MN (a suburban community near the Twin Cities). Growing up I loved music, nature, space, and sports. In school I played basketball, tennis, soccer and football. Outside of the "schooling" I played and composed music, which has been a passion of mine for a very long time. I play the drums, piano, guitar, ukelele and just about anything you can think of. I self taught myself how to play and compose music by ear. I started my first band in 6th grade named "The Mammoths" and we are still together today! I am also in a few other bands as well playing various different instruments. I love going to Jazz Clubs and enjoying the atmosphere and the rich music. I also write poetry and short stories. I have always loved writing and felt it is a great way to express myself. At Eagan High School I started acting and also joined the prestigious and nationally recognized Eagan Speech Team. While on speech I competed at various national tournaments. I was the runner-up in the humorous interpretation category at the Harvard Invitational which took place on the Harvard campus. I was also the 2011 MN STATE CHAMPION in speech. Everyone has always told me I have the "gift of gab", which is one of the main reasons I decided to pursue radio as a career (and I just about failed every math class I ever took). I went to Brown College in Mendota Heights and graduated through their prestigious broadcasting program with a degree in Broadcasting. (Fun Fact: Me and KG 95.3 after hours host, Gabe Glidden, graduated together). Oh yeah, and one more thing... HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! (sorry Vikings/Packers fans).. :-)
