Sheriff Dave Brand said Chad Loehr was cited with a fourth degree criminal substance crime after authorities seized two pounds and six ounces of a powdery substance better known as plant food or bath salts. Brand said the drugs had an estimated street value in excess of $100,000.
Brand said two firearms, some cash, and four vehicles were also seized during the search which took place at 8:00 a.m. Monday. The vehicles included a Corvette, a Jaguar, PT Cruiser and a Chrysler van.
Loehr was jailed and the case was referred to the county attorney's office for determination of formal charges. The Sheriff's Department received assistance from the St. Charles Police and the Southeastern Minnesota Narcotics and Gang Task Force.
