The Trempealeau County District Attorney's office has filed a criminal complaint in Trempealeau County Circuit Court charging 22 year old Amanda Butts of Osseo with first degree reckless homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, on June 22nd, Alexis Behlke, a 22 month old child, died as a result of an acute intoxication due to the combined effects of oxycodone, which is a prescription painkiller, allergy medication and an antidepressant.
Behlke was the daughter of Butt's boyfriend. Butts was caring for the girl while her boyfriend was at work.
According to the complaint, the girl also had bruises and cuts on her face and forehead. The charge carries a maximum possible term of imprisonment of 60 years.
