Businessman Scott Honour is one of four Republican's so far who have officially entered the race for governor and he was in Winona Wednesday talking to local business leaders and citizens about their concerns with state government.
Honour told Winona Radio News this is his first campaign but felt the state needs new leadership so he decided to run for Governor . Honour says too many regulations are keeping much needed jobs away from Minnesota and hurting the economy .
Honour says he would work to reward quality teachers and reduce burdonsome administrative costs. He says the state needs to address the disparity between inner city and suburban schools.
Other Republican's campaigning to challenge Democratic Governor Mark Dayton next year include former Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Zellers, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson and State Senator Dave Thompson .
