Student Loans--Walz Reax

A bill to cut the interest rates of new student loans goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.
On Wednesday, the House approved the bipartisan measure that calls for reducing the rates of Stafford subsidized and unsubsidized loans that had doubled July 1.
First District Congressman Tim Walz issued a statement saying while this is not the  bill he would have rewritten, it is currently the best deal for students and families that can pass both chambers and be signed into law, and that is why he voted in favor of it.

Interest rates would be tied to stock market performance.
