Mortage foreclosures in Winona County continue to decline.
That's the word from County Recorder Bob Bambenek who said July was the seventh consecutive month real estate foreclosures in the county dropped when compared to a year ago.
Bambenek said there were three foreclosures last month compared to eight in July of 2012.
The total to date in 2013 is 29 exactly half of the 58 foreclosures that were recorded in the first seven months of 2012.
Meanwhile, the number of property sales were up.
92 property sales were recorded last month compared to 76 during July of 2012.
Bambenek said the Winona County numbers reflect current national trends of fewer mortgage foreclosures and increased numbers of property sales.
