A fundraising campaign undertaken by the Catholic Diocese of Winona is well on its way to reaching a 30-million dollar goal.
The Diocese newspaper 'The Courier' reports this month that the 'Rooted in Faith-Rejoice in Hope' campaign his reached over 9-million dollars through the month of July.
The paper says the campaign's first wave, which includes 17 parishes in the Rochester Deanery, is nearing completion. The second wave, which includes the Mankato and Worthington Deaneries, is set to launch.
The final phase, which includes the Winona and Austin-Albert Lea Deaneries, will begin in October.
The funds will be earmarked to strengthen the Priest Retirement Fund and for improvements to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona.
