An Eyota convenience store and gas station said it has been hit by a credit card scam affecting as many as 70 of its customers.
The Olmsted County Sheriff's Department said the FBI is being called in to conduct an investigation.
The Post-Bulletin of Rochester reports the scam resulted in unauthorized withdrawals from customer's credit or debit cards, most of which had been used to purchase gas over the past several weeks.
Unauthorized transactions were being reported by several customers at the Eyota Market and it is believed the business may have been victimized by the use of a scimmer, a device more commonly used to steal account numbers at ATVs that can also be used on gas pumps.
Customers are being advised to check their online back accounts daily and save sales receipts.....
