After more than 20 years of operation the Lewiston Villa nursing home will be closing on or about October 24th, this year.
The facility's owners announced the closing in a press release and said the closing will be permanent.
In a statement the owners said nursing homes across the nation are being challenged by a number of factors that test their ability to offer residents a high quality of life and meet their financial obligations.
Despite every effort to improve and market the facility, the census has declined, costs have risen, and the lead partners can no longer dedicate the necessary time and energy to address the ongoing challenges with continuing to own the home.
Administrator, Jodi Barton, said the owners will be helping all of the residents with their relocation and will be assisting employees in finding new employment opportunities.
The actual closing date of on or about October 24th, is dependent on the date the current residents are transferred to other locations.....
