Winona State University has instituted a temporary moratorium on electronic cigarettes and hookahs.
The campus communications office issued an e-mail to all students last Friday, August 23rd, notifying them of the moratorium on hookahs and the smoking of e-cigarettes
Hookahs are described as large devices full of water, that can be used to smoke tobacco.
Winona State already has a campus-wide ban of regular cigarettes and smoking and students who brought the hookahs and e-cigarettes into dorms have been asked to remove them from campus.
The notice said a campus committee will decide in a few weeks whether to make the temporary moratorium permanent.
It said students are found with either a hookah or an e-cigarette they will be warned first and, after that, face possible conduct charges.....
