Students at the Lewiston-Altura Elementary School in Lewiston will have a safer route to get to school by the end of September.
According to the Lewiston Journal the city council gave its approval to a $142,000 project to construct the new route.
$110,000 for the construction comes from a grant from the Safe Routes to School program. The city will put up the remaining $32,000.
Pember construction was awarded the contract for the work.
The project is expected to start an end in September.
The project will provide safer pedestrian and bicycle travel from the neighborhoods west and south of the elementary school.....
