The Winona Area Public School Board received an update Thursday on the progress of the board's 2013-2014 budget and initiatives.
Superintendent Scott Hannon says financial goals are on target so far and budget reductions will be addressed next year.
The board has had several discussions about wanting to add more foreign language for kindergarten through fourth grade levels with the possibility of expanding foreign language to the middle school.
Hannon says the district is awaiting the results of surveys from parents and the community before moving forward.
The other board initiative's include hiring a quality superintendent and developing a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Program at Rollingstone and the Winona Middle School.
