A groundbreaking was held last week for the new addition to the Blair-Taylor High School and Middle School building in Blair.
Voters in the district approved the nearly $17,000,000 project last April in bond referendum.
The Trempealeau County Times reports that the impact on taxpayers initially will be just under a dollar per one thousand dollars of assessed property values.
Construction of the new addition was begun this week.
The project is expected to be finished in August of 2014 in time for classes to begin the day after Labor Day next year.
