A project to repair a road in Money Creek Township in Houston County can move forward now that the federal government has changed its mind about major funding for it.
The Post-Bulletin of Rochester reports that the Federal Emergency Management Agency reversed an earlier decision and will provide just over $633,000 for the project to improve Christianson Hill Road which was damaged in a 2010 flood.
The township was counting on the funds when it awarded a contract for the project but was initially denied the money by FEMA.
The township had previously also received a $203,000 grant for the project.
A township supervisor said the project is now pretty much ready to go.....
