The Winona State football team dropped to 0-2 after another heartbreaking loss on Saturday night. The Warriors lost to St. Cloud State 29-26 when Huskies quarterback Phillip Klaphake scored on a six-yard touchdown run with 43 seconds remaining in the game. Warriors’ true freshman quarterback Jack Nelson threw for 228 yards and a touchdown but also threw two interceptions. Josh Mikes caught the touchdown pass for the Warriors and finished with two catches for 74 yards.
Winona State will be back at home this Saturday when the Warriors host Minnesota State-Moorhead at 1:00.
