The first formal negotiating session between the Winona Area Public School Board and the district's teachers on a new labor contract takes place on Monday.
The latest contract expired on June 30th, but remains in effect until a new 2-year contract can be worked out.
The two sides will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the district offices at Winona Senior High School.
Monday's session will be open to the public and start's at 4:30 p.m.
In 2010, the two sides settled two different contracts at the same time covering the periods of 2009 to 2011, and 2011 to 2013. The first contract included a salary freeze but no step increase for eligible teachers...the second contract also had a salary freeze but also included a step increase for eligible teachers......
