Highway 61 Crash



The Minnesota State Patrol said one person was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 61 near Winona on Saturday.

The Patrol identified the driver as 44-year-old Gary Schmitz of Winona who was taken to Winona Health to be treated for his injuries.

There were four passengers in the vehicle who, the patrol said, sustained no apparent injuries.

One of was infant who was less than one year old. The others were a 3-year-old and a 22-year woman.

The fourth was 42-year-old Lorie Schmitz. All were from Winona.

The Patrol said the vehicle was northbound on Highway 61 when it left the roadway and rolled.

The crash was reported at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
