The first formal negotiating session between the Winona Area Public School Board and the district's teachers on a new labor contract took place Monday.
Human Resources Director Pat Blaisdell says the two sides agreed on about a dozen language changes in the contract that clarified some minor points.
They also agreed on pay guidelines on certain activities such as the spelling bee, that have always been funded but were not previously included in the contract language.
The next scheduled negotiating session is Monday, October 28th at 4:30 p.m. at the district offices at Winona Senior High School.
The session is open to the public.
The latest contract expired on June 30th, but remains in effect until a new 2-year contract can be agreed on.
In other district negotiations, the Educational Assistants negotiations will convene on Tuesday, October 29th at 4:15 p.m. at the District Office Conference Room. They will meet again in a closed strategy session at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12th before the regular negotiations begin at 4:30 p.m.
