Winona Police say a 15-year-old Winona boy who is facing felony charges in connection with possessing a gun on Winona High School property, and terroristic threats, has been charged in a second incident at a high school football game.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said the youth is alleged to have pulled a gun from his sweatshirt on a female student outside Paul Giel Field on September 20th and pointed it at the female.
Williams said the girl's father reported the incident on October 2nd. The school liaison officer interviewed some members of a group who said they witnessed the incident.
Police have recommended additional charges of felony possession of a weapon and second degree assault to the county attorney's office.
The boy remains in a secure detention facility.
Superintendent Scott Hannon has scheduled a meeting with parents at the high school Thursday, October 10th, at 6:00 p.m. to address the situation. The meeting will include police officials.
The boy has also been charged with in connection with a similar incident where he allegedly pointed a 22-caliber handgun at a student outside the high school.
