Bonding Bill Tour



The Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee will be in Winona Tuesday to hear about proposed projects seeking funding in a state bonding bill in 2014.
              
The committee, chaired by Democrat Alice Hausman, will be at Winona State University's Kryszko  Commons following a tour of the campus starting at 11:15 a.m. The visit will also include a luncheon.

WSU President Scott Olson will lead the delegation on a tour of buildings on Lafayette Street the university hopes to turn into a future "Education Village."

In addition, presentations starting about noon, will be made from the City of Winona on funding needed for the Louisa Street extension project and from the Winona Port Authority.

Persons seeking funding for the Lanesboro Dam upgrade are also scheduled to make a presentation.

It's the first day of a two-day swing through southeastern Minnesota that also includes stops in Red Wing, Preston, Chatfield, Rochester and Austin.

Republican Greg Davids of Preston also serves on the committee. Democrat Gene Pelowski is also expected to be on hand.
