Hunting-Private Land

With the start of the fall hunting season in Minnesota, Winona County authorities are warning hunters not to trespass on private lands.

Sheriff Dave Brand said he has received a number of complaints from landowners who have said some hunters have been entering their private land without permission.

Brand says hunters must seek permission from landowners even if the private lands are not posted. They must contact the landowner before entering the private property.

If they have no permission they can be charged with trespassing.
