The federal government shutdown has not yet had an impact on the Winona Bridge project but Minnesota Department of Transportation officials say it could if is extended a few more weeks.
Project Manager Terry Ward said the good news is that the project continues to be on schedule with the public comment period on the environmental assessment document due by the end of the month.
Ward said a public meeting on the environmental document will be held next Thursday, October 17th, at the Winona National Guard Armory from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Ward says the public can get updated on the project and offer their own comments but no formal presentation will be made.
That document needs the approval of the Federal Highway Administration and Ward said despite the government shutdown, that office continues to operate.
The project remains on schedule to begin next July, but any delay by the shutdown, could delay that start.....
