Last night was the final night of regular season football in the state of Minnesota and Winona High finished off the season with a bang. The Winhawks jumped out to a 33-0 lead at the half and coasted by Albert Lea 60-21. Vincent Pham had a career day with 192 yard rushing on 18 carries. Pham scored six touchdowns including five in the first half. Jeff Schultz was perfect throwing the ball going 5-5 for 150 yards and a touchdown. Terran Cross caught four passes for 122 yards including a 37-yard touchdown grab.
Winona High closes out the regular season 3-5 and the Winhawks will have a first round home game in the Section 1 5A playoffs on Tuesday. Winona High will likely play Albert Lea in the first round and the game can be heard on AM 1230 KWNO and online at winonaradio.com.
