Winona Senior High School Principal, Kelly Halverson, says it's important for better communication in the school in the wake of the recent incident of a student bringing a loaded handgun on to Winona Senior High School property.
Halverson tells Winona Radio News that school and local authorities reacted well once they became aware of the threat.
Halverson says students need to know it's ok to report any potentially dangerous situations at school.
It was learned after the student was arrested that some students and a parent had known since May that the 15-year-old Winona boy had sometimes brought a gun to school.
The youth is alleged to have pulled a gun from his sweatshirt on a female student outside Paul Giel Field on September 20th and pointed it at her.
