Buffalo County Job Performance



Public employees working for Buffalo County will have their job performances appraised annually under a new human resources plan still in county board committee.

The chairman of a human resources sub-committee, Dist. 4 County Supervisor Don Hillert of Mondovi, says a draft plan was nearly completed and ready for committee action.

The county board in recent years has advocated creating a better system of evaluating employee performance and non-elected department managers.

Performance evaluations might very well play into employee pay and salary issues examined when giving out wage increases.

Hillert says a possible pay-for-performance system might be in place by 2015.

In related issues, committee supervisors said they would study employee healthcare options once they obtain quotes for 2014 insurance benefits.

Buffalo County has faced higher than average rates because of its history of employee medical claims and assortment of care providers.
