Winona Police said officers from five other departments were called in early Sunday to help quell a large melee that occurred outside a downtown bar.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said two people were arrested and two others sustained serious injuries including a stabbing.
Williams said the call came in at 12:36 a.m. Sunday and officers estimated between 100 and 150 people were in the parking lot at M-C Sports Bar at Second and Johnson Streets when officers arrived.
25-year-old Dustin Larson of Winona was jailed after being cited with felony assault on a police officer. plus obstruction with force.
25-year-old Stephanie Ann Smith, also of Winona, was cited with obstruction and disorderly conduct.
Williams said an ambulance driver reported a third person, an unidentified male, was taken to Winona Health to be treated for a stab wound. Williams said another male lost several teeth.
Winona police were assisted by officers from the Sheriff's Department, Goodview, Lewiston, and St. Charles police, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities ordered the bar to shut down.
Williams said witnesses claimed the brawl stemmed from a disagreement between to groups of people and may have been race related.
