The Minnesota Department of Transportation will make its first offer on a business property acquisition for the Highway 43 bridge project Wednesday.
Project Manager Terry Ward told a Winona Radio audience the project remains on schedule, with the start of property acquisition, which Minn-DOT hopes to complete six months before the work is scheduled to begin next July.
Ward also said Wednesday is the final day for public comments on MinnDOT's environmental assessment document.
Ward said a final contractor should be selected by mid-November among the four finalists who were given requests for proposals.
MinnDOT will determine by January 15th, which, if any properties may need to be acquired by eminent domain if no agreements are reached with property owners.
The project is still estimated at between $150,000,000 and $175,000,000.
