Fountain City Water Projects

Public water projects at Fountain City are estimated to cost $947,000.
Most of it will go for a water main replacement project on State Highway 95/North St. in Fountain City.
City Clerk Janet LaDuke said the city's engineering firm, Cedar Corp., of Menomonie estimated the water main project will cost $749,000.
Another $95,500 goes for water reservoir improvements and nearly $112,000 for well repair and rehabilitation.
The city council has already applied for a water rate increase and a Community Development Block Grant and seeks funding from a Wisconsin Safe Drinking Water Fund.
Fountain City also has to upgrade its sewer treatment plant or build a new one. A new plant is estimated at $4 million.
Cedar Corporation is preparing a wastewater treatment plant facility study expected to outline options, costs and feasibility of fixing or replacing the plant.
