There is a groundbreaking ceremony Friday in southeastern Minnesota for a new State Veterans Cemetery.
The state was awarded a $10,000,000 federal grant for the project in Preston. Minnesota Veterans Affairs Commissioner Larry Shellito says the site is pristine and atypical for a cemetery.
Shellito says he envisions pictures of the new cemetery appearing in national V-A brochures in a few years. Shellito says one of the V-A's national goals is to have cemeteries within 75 miles of military members.
