A Republican candidate who is running against First District Congressman Tim Walz in 2014 says Democratic leadership is failing.

Political newcomer Aaron Miller says one example is the Farm Bill, which Miller says is loaded with money for food stamps not for farmers.

Miller says the rollout of the new health care law in Minnesota has been a disaster, something he says was easy to predict.

The 44-year-old Miller has served overseas including in Iraq and Afghanistan and lives in Byron.

So far, three other Republicans have announced they will seek their party's endorsement for the First District seat to oppose Walz.

They are Miller, Representative Mike Benson of Rochester and Jim Hagedorn (HAG'ah-dorn) of Blue Earth.
