Gifts for Winona

Giving trees will be going up at locations around Winona next week just prior to Thanksgiving for the annual Gifts for Winona program.

Spokesman Lance Thompson says each of the trees will contain tags from applications which indicate the age of a child or adult, and the type of gift being requested.

Thompson says this year the special trees will be located at Walmart, the Winona Post, the Winona Public Library, the three Severson Sinclair stations, along with the Security State Bank in Lewiston.

The public is invited to take a tag, purchase a gift indicated on the tag, and return the gift to the tree from which the tag was obtained.

Call 457-8719 if you would like to give multiple gifts for a large group.

The program is for children up to age 18 and for adults 60 and over.

A year ago Gifts for Winona served some 1,600 people in the community.

Late applications are still being accepted at Winona Volunteer Services.....
