WAPS Budget Cuts

Teachers in the Winona Area Public Schools may be breathing easier after the district announced last week there will be no budget cuts next spring.
Thanks to additional funding from the state legislature, and about an $800,000 reduction in anticipated health insurance rates, Superintendent Scott Hannon said there will be no teacher cuts for the next school year.

Hannon said there may be some minor internal changes.

The budget news may also mean some good news for the teachers who are currently in negotiations for a new two-year contract......
