Coats for Character

The Winona Masonic Lodge is continuing its annual "Coats for Character" program which began is 2004 and has become a statewide Masons project.
Coats for Character receives money from the Masons and the Winona Friendship Center to purchase youth-sized coats that are embroidered with the WInhawk logo. These "letter jackets" for the elementary students are given to youngsters who demonstrate strong character, positive goal setting, achievements and service. Children are nominated by adults in their school building.
This year 87 jackets were purchased and embroidered and delivered to schools on October 31st and November 1st.
At last week's school board meeting Board Chair Mohamed Elhindi and Superintendent Dr. Scott Hannon were presented money for this year's program from the Winona Senior Friendship Center Advisory Council. and Clarence Russell of the Winona Masons......
