The Trempealeau Village Police Department says a 19-year-old man was taken into custody shortly before midnight Saturday following a high speed chase.
Authorities said it began about 11:30 p.m. when an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Austin Ratkus for traffic violations.
The vehicle failed to stop and the chase was on.
Speeds exceeded one hundred miles an hour and the pursuit lasted 17 minutes.
Police said during the chase, Ratkus struck a squad car twice. There were three passengers in the Ratkus vehicle and they all jumped out of the vehicle during the pursuit.
No one was injured.
Ratkus pulled over voluntarily and was arrested.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department and Galesville Police also assisted in the pursuit.
Ratkus is being held in the Trempealeau County Jail pending a court appearance.
