Winona officials could learn as soon as this week who will be chosen as the contractor for the interstate bridge project.
Minnesota Department of Transportation Project Manager Terry Ward said Monday the final decision among the short list of four contractors is awaiting a review of the proposals by the Federal Highway Administration and MnDOT doesn't know who that firm will be yet.
Ward also said acquisition of properties needed for the project has been progressing with a goal of having all offers out by the end of December.
Ward said affected property owners will be given up to one year to make decisions on relocating. Ward said both property owners and renters will receive displacement compensation from MnDOT.
The four final contrctors are: Lunda Construction of Black River Falls,...Ames Construction of Burnsville, Minnesota...Edward Kraemer and Sons, Incorporated, from Burnsville, Michigan...and PCL Civil Constructors from Tampa, Florida......
