Motorists in the City of Winona can expect to see a lot of street improvements in 2014.
Winona Mayor Mark Peterson said the city has earmarked the additional one million dollars in local government aid it will receive for improving over 50 blocks of streets.
Peterson told a Winona Radio audience that it appears the street improvements will occur mostly in the city's east end.
The extra million dollars in local government aid is the result of a new funding formula adopted by if it the state.
Peterson said the city will continue the massive street improvement program in 2015 in other parts of the city with the additional aid if the aid continues.
The work does not include the three-year project to improve Franklin Street which enters its second year in 2014.
